Xiaomi to launch its first dual camera smartphone in India next month

“Xiaomi is expected to launch either the Mi 5X or Mi 6 in India”

Xiaomi’s India head Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter today to announce that the company is gearing up to launch its first dual-camera smartphone in India next month.

While Xiaomi hasn’t specified which device it will be launching, we expect it to be either the recently launched Mi 5X or the flagship Mi 6. There are chances that it could very well be the former since according to various reports, Xiaomi has no plans of launching its flagship device in India.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X’s rear panel is home to 12MP + 12MP camera modules, along with a 5MP front shooter. Talking of the spec sheet, the budget dual camera smartphone features 5.5-inch full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clubbed with 4 gigs of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage and 3,080mAh battery. The device is priced aggressively at RMB 1,499 (~ Rs. 14,200) in China, so we can expect similar pricing if and when it’s launched in India.
