“The Redmi Note 4 allegedly burst into flames when a SIM card was being inserted”
Last year, there was a report regarding a Xiaomi Mi 4i exploding in India. Now, a report by TechCase claims that a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 met the same fate. The report says that Arjun, a resident of Bengaluru, went to a store to get a SIM card inserted into his Redmi Note 4 (review). The device caught fire when the store attendant tried to insert a SIM card in it.
Luckily, no one was injured during the incident, which took place on July 17th around 10:30 am. The customer also filed an FIR at the Bellandur Police Station in Bengaluru.
The user submitted the exploded Redmi Note 4 unit to the Xiaomi service centre. The report says that the user got areplacement of the device from Poorvika store where he purchased the phone earlier.
