Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 now getting Android Marshmallow stable update

“The update brings a handful of new features and bug fixes”

Earlier this month, Xiaomi started seeding the MIUI V8.1.1.0 update based on Android Marshmallow to beta testers of the Redmi Note 3 (review). Now, the company has started rolling out the stable Android Marshmallow based MIUI update to the device worldwide.


As per the official change-log, the Redmi Note 3’s MIUI 8 based Marshmallow update is sized at a hefty at 1.3GB. It brings a three-finger swipe for screenshots, a new frequently-used app section with sorting based on usage, optimisation for opening contacts in messaging, optimisations to network list, LED notification, date in status bar, and more.

The update also fixes a bunch of bugs like notifications not displaying any results, the status bar not working properly with third party themes, weather widget issues, and more. Have you received the latest update?
