The new Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is crafted out of metal and glass. It sports a layer of 3D curved glass on the back on top of the aluminium chassis. The smartphone is available in two colour variants viz. Piano Black and Glacier Silver.
The Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7” flexible full HD OLED display with 77.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. There's a layer of 3D curved glass atop the dual-edge curved display.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 boasts a 22.56MP primary camera with a Sony IMX318 sensor and EIS. There's a dual-LED flash on the back as well. The phone utilises an 8MP autofocus camera for selfies, with Beautify 3.0 tech.
Processor and software
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip clocked at 2.35GHz. There are two RAM variants - 4GB and 6GB. The devices runs Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.
Connectivity and battery
Apart from offering full NFC functionality, which is one of the highlights, the smartphone offers high-precision GPS. The Mi Note 2 Global edition supports 37 network bands worldwide, 22 of which are LTE. The phone is fuelled by a 4,070mAh battery and also gets Quick Charge 3.0 tech.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been priced at 2,799 RMB for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs 3,299 RMB while the global edition of the same will set people back by 3,499 RMB. The phone has been launched in China and reports say it may never make it to India at all... which is a bummer.
