“The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is the first flagship from the brand to come with Snapdragon 845 SoC”
By now, it is no secret that Xiaomi is working on the third-generation Mi Mix smartphone, curiously named Mi Mix 2S. The smartphone has been subject to numerous leaks and rumours, and Xiaomi has recently announced that the smartphone will be unveiled on March 27th in China. Moreover, a recent leak of the alleged screenshot from the device’s ‘About Phone’ section revealed key specifications of the handset for all to see. Now, Xiaomi has gone ahead and teased an image on Weibo, hinting at the AI-enabled imaging prowess of the upcoming phone.
The image shared by the brand on Chinese social media urges users to take a closer look and guess whether the light trail effect in it has been created through the camera or the AI feature. The post then goes on to reveal that the Mi Mix 2s will be coming with a major technological breakthrough in AI and photography. While this could mean that the smartphone will have AI integration across the board and powerful cameras, the guesswork involved hints that the brand has integrated AI in the cameras as well.
Coming to the spec sheet of the handset, the Mi Mix 2s is expected to ship with a 6.01-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2,160 x 1,080 pixels resolution. Handling the performance department of the device will be the top-tier 2.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC mated to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. We can expect the phone to be offered in another variant with lower RAM and storage. The smartphone will also come with support for global 4G LTE bands. As for the imaging, Mi Mix 2s will come with either a single 16MP rear camera or a pair of 12MP shooters based on previous leaks. The camera is expected to come with scene recognition support and Sony IMX363 image sensor. The device is said to run Android Oreo and fuelled by a 4,400mAh battery based on the leaked screenshot.
