“All new VU smart TVs sport 4K UHD screen panels and are powered by Android TV operating system based on Nougat”
VU Technologies has launched its latest range of Android TV-powered smart televisions in India with three models. The brand’s latest TVs are based on Android 7.0 Nougat based Android TV operating system, and will be getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update at some point in the second half of this year. The new VU TVs come with built-in Google apps including the Google Play store that lets you download compatible apps and games, along with apps for popular streaming services like YouTube and Netflix. Notably, unlike the recently launched 55-inch smart TV from Xiaomi, the VU TVs don’t support HDR.
VU Technologies has partnered with content providers like Netflix, Hotstar and ALTBalaji to offer certified apps on its new TVs. They come bundled with the Vu ActiVoice-powered remote control for voice search. The TVs include Chromecast support to let you cast content from your Android or iOS-powered devices, as well as from laptops. All three new YU models feature two 10W speakers in the form of an integrated soundbar. Further, the models also come with Dolby Digital and DTS support for an immersive media experience.
The new VU televisions are available in 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch sizes, and flaunt 4K UHD A+ grade IPS panels with 178-degree viewing angles. All new VU smart TVs are powered by quad-core processors, offer Mali T860 GPUs, and pack 2.5GB of RAM. They have 16GB of built-in storage and offer a bunch of connectivity options like dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, and Ethernet ports.
The VU Android 4K TV’s 43-inch model has been priced at Rs 36,999. The 49-inch and 55-inch variants are being offered for Rs 46,999 and Rs 55,999, respectively. The new VU offerings will be available online exclusively through Flipkart and through the brand’s flagship stores across the country starting March 16th.
