“The Vivo Y81 is the debut smartphone in Y-series to come with a notch display”
Last month, Vivo launched a new smartphone in its Y series, dubbed the Vivo Y81. Notably, the Y81 was the first smartphone in the Y-series to come with a display notch up top. At the time of the launch, Vivo launched a single variant of the smartphone with 3GB of RAM. Now, Mumbai-based retailer – Mahesh Telecoms has reported that a new variant of the smartphone with 4GB RAM is up for grabs as well, in India.

To recap on the spec sheet, the Vivo Y81 has been equipped with a 6.22-inch FullView HD+ IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display notch on the smartphone houses the selfie camera, earpiece, and a proximity sensor. There is a MediaTek Helio P22 processor ticking at the core to handle the device’s performance. The new launch gets 32GB storage along with the 4GB RAM accompanying the processor. The native storage can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
Moving on to the imaging department, the Y81 comes equipped with a 13MP primary sensor on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for self-portraits and making video calls. As for the software, the smartphone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS. A 3,260mAh battery takes care of the power requirements of the handset. On the connectivity front, the Vivo Y81 comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and micro-USB port.
According to the Mahesh Telecom, the new variant of the handset will set you back by Rs 13,490. It is already up for grabs from the retail outlet.
