Vivo X21 with 6GB RAM and under-display fingerprint scanner launched in India for Rs 35,990

Vivo launched the world’s first smartphone with an under-display fingerprint scanner – X21 in March this year in China. 91mobiles got to know earlier this month from reliable sources that the smartphone would be launched in India towards the end of this month. Sure enough, the brand has officially launched the X21 in the country today.

The Vivo X21 comes with a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display that offers full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio to accommodate the display notch on the top. The handset also flaunts an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent, which is next only to Vivo’s own APEX that has 91 percent. As for the performance, the handset gets a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC ticking at its core. The processor is further backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. For security, the smartphone gets face unlock and under-display biometrics.

Coming to the optics, the Vivo X21 comes with a dual camera module on the rear panel comprising of a primary 12MP shooter backed by a 5MP secondary camera. There is a 12MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling. The camera app on the handset comes backed by AI features and Vivo’s Rubik Cube technology. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and flaunts Vivo’s proprietary AI-driven virtual assistant – Jovi powered by the dedicated Qualcomm AIE artificial intelligence chip. A 3,200mAH battery completes the spec sheet of the smartphone.

Vivo is offering the new smartphone in Black, Ruby Red, and Aurora White colour options. The smartphone will set you back by Rs 35,990.
