“The Vivo V9 Youth is the toned-down variant of the Vivo V9”
Vivo launched its selfie-centric smartphone – V9 (review) in India last month, which eventually went on sale in the country earlier this month. The smartphone came in as successor to the V7 (Unboxing and first impressions) and brought features like a notched display and powerful selfie camera to the table. Now, the brand seems to be working on a toned down variant of the new launch as complete spec-sheet of alleged Vivo V9 Youth has been spotted on the Internet.
Spotted by Slashleaks, the spec sheet reveals that the smartphone might come with a 6.3-inch FullView 2.0 display. The screen flaunts 19:9 aspect ratio, 2,280 x 1,080 pixels resolution and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Further, the performance of the handset is expected to be delivered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC, which would be a step down from the Snapdragon 626 on the Vivo V9. The processor has been tipped to be mated to 4GB RAM and 32 GB storage. As per the leaked spec sheet, the onboard memory will be further expandable up to 256GB, using a microSD card.
Coming to the optics, the smartphone has been tipped to flaunt a 16-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary camera on the rear panel. The dual camera module seemingly comes with support for features like Bokeh, AI HDR, shot re-focus and 4K video recording, among others. As for the selfies and video calling, there is likely to be a 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture and support for AI Beauty. Out of the box, the smartphone has been suggested to run Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0. The handset is expected to house a 3,260mAh battery to keep the lights on. Other details revealed by the leak include a fingerprint scanner, USB OTG support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and 4G LTE.
While the leaked information has left almost nothing to the imagination, the pricing and availability details are not known yet. We will bring you more updates as they emerge, stay tuned.
