Videocon VT71 Android ICS tablet launched

The Electronic Home Appliances Manufacturer, Videocon has added another tablet in its Tablet range by launching an affordable 7 inch tablet naming Videocon VT71.

The Indian market has marked a tremendous growth in last couple of months. The year 2013 is considered to be year of tablets.

Videocon also wants to be in this highly competitive market and hence it launched this tablet at an affordable price tag of Rs.4799.

During the launch event, Khalid Zamir, Head of Product & Development for Videocon Mobiles stated, “The announcement of the VT71 is an endeavour to expand the product portfolio of the segment and embark upon a pertinent customer engagement program wherein by affording them the range of tablet devices, we seek to bring about an engaged tablet experience to them,”

The latest Videocon VT71 sports a 7 inch Capacitive Touch screen producing 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

It is powered by 1.2GHz Processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. This tablet runs runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich Operating system.

Videocon VT71 houses a front VGA Camera for video calling. It boasts 4GB of Internal Storage which can be expanded upto 32GB by using a microSD Card.
On Connectivity front, this tab supports Wi-fi, HDMI port, 3G via dongles and microUSB.

This Tab is fuelled by 3200mAH battery.

Applications like Nexgtv, Saavn, TOI, Facebook and Nimbuzz comes pre-installed with this device.

The closest competitor to Videocon VT71 will be Karbonn ST7 Tornado, which is available in market a bit costlier at Rs. 5,500 but carries 1GB RAM. It would be interesting to see that what this new tablet will do in the market.
