Viber updates its BlackBerry app with enhanced design and ‘Seen’ status

Viber for BlackBerry Popular messenger service- Viber has announced an update to its BlackBerry app. With more than 200 million users, Viber is the second largest app after WhatsApp, and it features HD quality voice calling apart from usual text messaging and file sharing through the application. Apart from bug fixes and stability improvement, the updated version 3.1 features some design changes making it easier to navigate for options. Users will now be able to see each other’s images while conversations. With the help of Seen status, one will be able to know whether their messages have been read and at what time. For the user, the app also provides the ability to share any location utilizing third party mapping and navigation services. Viber has also improved the Settings screen for adjusting settings screen. Viber BlackBerry version in English Speaking at the launch, Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber stated- “BlackBerry is the third largest mobile user base for Viber and is an integral part of our strategy to reach users of multiple platforms”. “Our continued support for the community of Viber users on the platform goes hand-in-hand with our efforts to reach the broadest possible audience of users around the world.” Some of these features are also available in Viber application on other platforms, which is available across all the mobile platforms- Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and even Bada, Asha OS. The app is also available on desktop for both Windows and Mac Operating System. Viber can be downloaded for free from BlackBerry World and supports BB OS 5 and above.
