“The Vaio Phone Biz comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 617 CPU, 3GB of RAM and 13MP/5MP cameras”
Vaio, the former Sony laptop unit, entered the smartphone business last year with the launch of the Android-powered Vaio Phone. Now the company has tapped the Windows Phone market by announcing the Vaio Phone Biz smartphone. The phone runs Windows 10 Mobile, and supports Continuum mode that lets you use it as a PC by hooking up a keyboard, monitor and mouse via a dock.
The Vaio Phone Biz offers a sleek silver-finished aluminum build and tempered glass on the front. The phone sports a large phablet-grade 5.5-inch full HD display. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU and 3 gigs of RAM. The phonecomes with 16GB expandable memory, a 13-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel secondary snapper, 4G LTE support, and a 2,800mAh battery.
The Vaio Phone Biz has been priced at the equivalent of around Rs 28,500. The company has partnered with Japanese carrier NTT Docomo to sell the phone. There’s no word whether or not the device will be available outside Japan, but we doubt it will happen anytime soon.
