More often than not, the curated list of apps and games that you must download for your Android devices include international apps. However, this week, we have quite a few apps that are targeted at Indian users. These include a grocery-delivery app from Flipkart, and an app developed by Google to help commuters in Delhi, among others. Read on to find what other apps deserve your attention.

It allows the user to quickly capture, edit and share unique design assets such as brushes, colours, filters, and shapes. These assets can then be used in other apps from the company like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. The app allows you to import any image captured by the phone’s camera and then extract colours from the same.

Airtel HangoutAirtel Hangout (Free)

An Airtel subscriber and not satisfied with the speed offered by your data connection? Well, the leading telecom operator might have something to solve your problem. Dubbed Hangout, the newly-introduced app allows the user to latch on the the nearest Airtel Wi-Fi zone to get more speed. The app can be used by non-Airtel users as well, but only subscribers will be able to use it after crossing the initial offer of 25MB free data per day.

These Wi-Fi zones are live across many areas of NCR, and the company is planning to expand them to more locations.

Delhi Public Transport OfflineDelhi Public Transport Offline (Free)

Google has launched an experimental app for the convenience of daily commuters living in India’s capital. The app works offline and let users check for route details of the Delhi Metro, Gurgaon Rapid Metro and DTC buses. They can also look for schedules for the metro, and that too without requiring an internet connection. In case you’re connected to the internet, the app will also notify you about any major Metro delays or transit news.

Flipkart NearbyFlipkart Nearby (Free)

After Amazon, India’s leading ecommerce portal is also jumping into the hyperlocal delivery space with a dedicated app called Nearby. The app allows the user to purchase groceries, personal care products, household supplies and more and get them delivered to their house. It has neatly categorised all the products into respective categories for ease of navigation.

As of now, it’s serving a few areas of Bangalore and will be expanded to other parts of the country soon. The orders can be placed between 10am and 8pm.

HikeHike {Update} (Free)

Within less than three years of its launch, Hike has become the second-most popular messaging app thanks to its innovative features such as group calling, sending files up to 100MB, etc. Now, it has launched a feature that seems to be a game changer – the ability to chat without using the internet. Called Direct, the feature uses the Wi-Fi Direct capabilities of devices to allow users to chat within a 100m radius. Apart from messages, users can also share files in a jiffy as it offers speeds of up to 40Mbps.

Inner ChefInner Chef (Free)

While there are multiple services that can deliver food to your doorstep, Inner Chef differentiates itself by letting you order fresh and wholesome food. It also offers you a variety of cuisines to choose from, such as Mediterranean, European and Indian. Interestingly enough, the service not only offers ready-to-eat food, but also ready-to-cook items, where it provides step-by-step instructions on how to prepare a meal.

The service can be availed from 11am to 11pm and currently only delivers to Gurgaon and South Delhi.

MediumMedium {Update} (Free)

Medium is a popular service for not just reading content, but also publishing. In version 2.0 of the app, it has received some useful updates such as FAB to let you publish new stories or recommend the story that you’re reading. There’s also a new section called Explore, which displays trending tags, new authors, five-minute reads and top stories.

Using machine learning and artificial intelligence, the experimental app aims to offer better word prediction. Heroes Reborn- EnigmaHeroes Reborn: Enigma (Rs 329.69)

Popular TV series Heroes is returning to TV with a special 13-episode series dubbed Heroes Reborn. But if you aren’t patient enough to wait for the show, you can play the official game on your mobile devices. The game follows the story of Dahlia, a young woman who has to solve various puzzles with her special powers. There are over 30 levels and you can use her powers such as telekinesis and time shifting to solve them. The game’s plot is different from the upcoming series and features impressive graphics.
