Top Android apps and games of the week #10

A new report suggests that more than 75 percent users stop using newly-installed app(s) within three days. That’s why we aim to showcase the best apps to you, so that you don’t have to spend time to figure out which ones deserve your attention. This week, we have updates to some popular apps, and more importantly, quite a few games to keep you busy.

Inbox by GmailInbox by Gmail {Update} (Free)

Google’s Inbox app makes it easier to reach the Inbox zero state with its advanced categorisation options. The latest update brings more granularity to the app when the user selects the snooze option. Now, instead of just selecting the time, you can snooze the email to appear later in the week or during the weekend. The app also gives you the option to define your weekend day(s).

WhatsAppWhatsApp {Update} (Free)

The ubiquitous communication app received a major update this week, as it added the ability of sharing documents with others. Although, at the moment, users can only share PDF documents with contacts or groups, the Facebook-owned chat service is expected to add support for more file formats in the future.



Clash RoyaleClash Royale (Free)

After the tremendous success of Clash of Clans, Supercell, the company behind the title, has launched a spin-off game called Clash Royale which stars the Royales along with several other popular characters. The objective of the game is to knock down the enemy King and Princess from their towers. Doing so will let you win trophies and crowns, which in turn will allow you to upgrade and add more cards to your collection.

While you are waiting with the bated breath to see the fight between two most popular superheroes in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, coming later this month, you can at least don Batman’s cape in this title. The game brings forth Batman and his sidekick Robin with several other super heroes from DC universe and pits them against villains like Lex Luthor and Joker. It follow original story with LEGO’s videogame action.

Fahreneit- Indigo ProphecyFahreneit: Indigo Prophecy (Rs 682.62)

If you are looking for a story-driven game, then Fahreneit: Indigo Prophecy is a must try. It’s among the most popular games with interactive narrative, and now it has been launched for Android devices. You’ll be following the protagonist Lucas Kane who is trying to solve a series of supernatural murders. Like most such games, your actions will define the course of the story. The title has incredible graphics, and what’s more, you can also switch to old-style graphics if you like.

Thumb DriftThumb Drift (Free)

Thumb Drive, as the name suggests, requires you to drift cars with the simple control of a thumb. While the control might be simple, the gameplay isn’t, since the title is a combination of a drifting game with an endless runner. This means that you need to keep drifting, until you hit a wall and explode. It has over 50 cars that can be unlocked by playing well.

Also check out update to the IF by IFTTT, which has added support for various new services, to make it easier for you to automate them with recipes.
