Just a week after the launch of Nexus 5 and the latest iteration of Android 4.4 KitKat, Google has started updating some of its apps to support new features in previous versions of Android. All this and much more in our weekly section of best Android Apps and Games either released or updated in the week-

Google Keyboard

Google Keyboard (Free)

The update brings the app at par with the version released in Nexus 5, namely swiping support to write whole sentence without picking the finger, sharing your feelings through colored emojis, next word suggestions, and more. Although, the color emoji would be only available for Android 4.4 or later and on previous versions of the Android we’ll simply see a black and white set. The keyboard layout is also tweaked a little bit making it easier to type. Google Keyboard 1Google Keyboard 2Google Keyboard 3 The update will be rolled out gradually to all Android users.

JumpCamJumpCam (Free)

After a surge of photo capturing and image editing apps, we are now seeing a lot of interesting apps regarding video recording. While apps like Vine and Instagram focus on the short snippets of video allowing one to showcase their creativity, they can’t be used collaboratively. JumpCam allows capturing short 10 seconds clips by multiple people with a limit of maximum 30 clips in a video. The videos can also be modified with a background music and filters. According to the developers, the video will continue to evolve by adding/ deleting new clips or changing background music. JumpCam 1JumpCam 2JumpCam 3

Couple of weeks before, we mentioned about beta version of SwiftKey and its key features in Apps of the Week article, which now have made their way to the final version. Highlight of the update is the option of having multiple layouts of keyboards, which means you can use a particular layout out of Full, Thumb and Compact arrangement of keys based on the type and screen size of the device. What’s more, the keyboard can be moved anywhere on the screen ensuring focus on what you’re typing rather than the keyboard.
