The official name for the upcoming Sony smartphone is confirmed via a leaked dummy unit of the phone online. It is now confirmed that it will be called Sony Xperia Z1 which was earlier rumored to be named as Sony Xperia i1. While the official announcement for the phone is still awaited, the clearest images of the phone are also leaked online.
A set of images showing the Black and White color models of the phone have appeared on a Chinese website. These are the clearest images of the phone we have seen so far. Sony is expected to launch the phone in a press event on September 4th before the IFA Trade Fair in Berlin kicks off for this year.
Rumored specs of the phone suggest it will be having a 5inch full HD display with the resolution of 1080p. It will be powered by a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM memory.
It will be running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system version polished by Sony’s custom user interface. It will be having 20.7MP rear shooter with Sony G Lens and it will be able to capture 4K quality videos.
In related news, BGR India has reported that Sony is going to launch the phone in India on September 18th after the official unveiling of the phone in Berlin. The blog reports that the phone will be priced around Rs. 50,000 in India.
