Sony Xperia XZ2 appears on AnTuTu, sports Snapdragon 845 SoC and 18:9 display

Sony recently announced announced its launch event at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which is set for February 26th. The event will kick off at 8.30am CET (1pm IST). Sony is expected to launch its flagship line-up including the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Pro. These devices have been subject to a number of speculations in the past including Xperia XZ2 specs and Xperia XZ2 Pro specs leaks. Now, the XZ2 has turned up on the Antutu benchmarking site, confirming the key specs of the device.

In the AnTuTu screenshot, we can see the Xperia XZ2 (H8266) will come with a taller 18:9 display offering a resolution of FHD+ (2,160 x 1,080 pixels). Driving the performance of the flagship will be the top tier Snapdragon 845 SoC, which has been mated to 4GB of RAM. The onboard storage on the device has been pegged at 64GB, which we can expect to be expandable through a hybrid SIM slot. The Xperia XZ2 will be running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The smartphone has reportedly recorded an average benchmarking score of more than 2,00,000 AnTuTu. According to earlier reports, the handset is expected to be powered by a 3,210mAh battery.

Coming to the Xperia XZ2 Pro, it is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch OLED display boasting 4K resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. As usual, the device is expected to arrive with IP68 certification for protection against dust and water. In the imaging department, it is expected to feature an 18-megapixel + 12-megapixel snapper on the rear panel and a 13-megapixel selfie camera. The other features of the handset will include a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Android 8.0 Oreo and a 3,420mAH battery.

As of now, pricing and availability details of these handsets are not known, but the Xperia XZ2 Pro is expected to be priced at RMB 6,000 (~Rs 59,500) in China. 91mobiles will be on the floor at MWC 2018, so stay tuned for all the updates.
