Sony Ericsson Satio (Idou) Review

Sony Ericsson Satio earlier named as Idou unwrapped into Indian market and to standup in tough competition. The candy bar touch screen mobile is drawn to the dimensions of 112 x 55 x 13 mm and weighs 126g. The weight might consistently be less because of its plastic body.  The mobile comes in three variant colors Black, Silver, Bordeaux. The front and back body of the mobile has a solid glossy finishing which invariably attracts the fingerprints. The Satio is a full touchscreen debuts with Symbian S60 5th edition interface. It operates with GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 900/2100. Satio The Satio is loaded with astonishing 12.0 Megapixel camera with autofocus, xenon flash and video LED flash. In addition to this it has Touch focus, smile detection, face detection and 16x digital zoom. The captured images can be geo-tagged using Google maps which work with A-GPS. The camera lens cover on the backside draws the mobile a different shape but occupies additional room for its elegant and sleek dimensions. More or less this is close relative to a digital still camera. satio-camera The front side is fully loaded with the 3.5 inch full touch screen which displays 16 million colors and has a resolution of 360x 240 pixels. There are three thin buttons below the screen which obviously have call key, end key, and menu key. The camera shutter, mode switcher and gallery access buttons and the volume control keys on the right side. The top accommodates with a power on/off button. To the fate, there is no 3.5 mm audio jack for the music lovers. The left side, is occupied with MicroSD card slot along with the screen lock/unlock key and the charger port. The sales pack is bundled with an 8 GB external memory card and the mobile supports upto 32 GB. satio-3 Sony Ericsson Satio is packed up with a good audio player, where the users can feel Sony’s regular walkman experience. It gives an instant access to the music, games and applications. The player can be accessed and controlled from the home screen.


The home screen is custom tabbed which lets you to organize your favorite goodies. The player will not support DivX and Xvid video formats. The Symbian OS is the new version which powered various other brands and this could be customized from the regular symbian interface. This is identical by comparing with the traditional or standard operating system. The Satio is fully loaded with the features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Video call etc. There is a small camera in the front side which allows making a perfect video call. The handset is pre-loaded with a couple of widgets like Picasa, blogger, YouTube etc which enables the users to share their moments among their peers. The Satio uses S60 web browser loaded with java and supports the flash content and video streaming. The other important features include the Accelerometer; Onscreen QWERTY keyboard and handwriting recognition. Satio supports to access the mobile office and adobe pdf files. The battery life of the mobile is good where the talktime is upto 11 hours (2G), 4 hours 50 min (3G), the standby time is 360 hours. On the whole, Satio can hardly compete among its rivals in the market with its loaded features.
