“The Sony α9 is positioned at wedding and sports photographers”
Sony has launched its most expensive consumer-grade mirrorless camera called the α9 in India. The camera utilises the world’s first full-frame 24.2-megapixel stacked CMOS sensor. The snapper is positioned at professional wedding photographers and sports imaging enthusiasts.
The Sony α9’s 24.2MP stacked CMOS sensor allows you to shoot up to 362 JPEG or 241 RAW images with continuous AF/AE tracking, and capture blackout-free continuous shooting at 20fps. The camera utilises the brand’s upgraded BIONZ X processing engine and front-end LSI to maximise the overall performance. The camera’s advanced autofocusing system is capable of accurately tracking complex and erratic motion. It utilises a 5-axis in-body image stabilisation with a 5.0 step shutter speed advantage.
The Sony α9 offers vibration-free shooting at shutter speeds of up to 1/32,000 second. It can shoot 4K movies with much higher resolution and detail as it utilises full pixel readout without pixel binding to collect 6K information. The camera is capable of full recording at 120fps at a bit rate of up to 100mbps.
The other specs of the Sony α9 flagship include a three-inch tilting touchscreen display, support for the uncompressed 14-bit RAW format, tough magnesium alloy body, micro-HDMI, EVF, NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The Sony α9 has been priced at Rs 3,29,990 for the body only. Bundled with various Sony lenses, between Rs 1,39,990 and Rs 1,99,990. The camera will be available via all Sony Center, Alpha flagship stores and other electronic stores across the country from July 29th.
