Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Review

Presenting the all new Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM prime lens for full frame and APS-C DSLR cameras. This lens can give a user an equivalent view as that found on a 52.5mm lens on an APS-C system. The new Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM has a round 9 blade diaphragm which can create a nice blur to out of focus areas found on the image, acting like a correction medium. It has a minimum focusing distance of 30cm/11.8in and maximum reproduction ratio of 1:5.2. This new lens is the first of its kind to the new Art line. The focus is wide and the grip is great both collectively working to create fantastic imagery. Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM weighs in at 66.5 grams and measures 9.4 cm in length. The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM is quite a large lens if you take into consideration its focal length. This lens can work well on the Canon EOS 650D. The lens comes with a plastic shell and uses a mixture of metallic parts and a new compound material and Thermally Stable Inside Composite on the inside.  It also has a brass bayonet mount which is espoused as being more sturdy and durable. The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM sticks with all the basic features you would get from a prime lens save the fact that there is no built-in Vibration Reduction. The high speed maximum aperture of f/1.4 however kicks in place to balance this missing factor.  Focusing is comfortable and is internal and manual focusing when the Focus switch is turned on in the lens barrel. You can also use the full time manual focus override by rotating the focus ring. You will get a distance scale in feet and meters from the closest focusing distance of 0.3m/0.99 ft to infinity. The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM  comes with a soft case of high quality and a plastic floret shaped lens hood. Further it accepts 67mm filters. The autofocus function is quick and takes about 0.15 seconds only to lock onto the subject. There are far less chromatic aberrations using this lens when compared to others, and are overall scarce and negligent. Although the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM is not a macro lens it can produce wide range shots.
