Samsung Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame unveiled

Samsung unveiled two new budget friendly smartphones -the Galaxy Young and the Galaxy Fame. Both handsets operate on the Android 4.1 JellyBean platform and will come in single SIM and dual SIM variations.


The Galaxy Fame’s dimensions are 113.2×61.6×11.6 mm and weighs 120.6 grams. It has a 3.5 inches HVGA display with a screen resolution of 480×320 pixels. It has a 1GHz single core processor with 512MB of RAM. It has 4GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

The Galaxy Fame features a 5 megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the Fame supports WiFi, GPS (A-GPS/Glonass), Bluetooth 4.0.The Fame will be available in white and blue colours.

The Galaxy Young has thinner dimensions at 58.6x 109.4×12.5 mm and weighs lighter at 112 grams, and comes with a 3.27 inches HVGA display with 480×320 pixels screen resolution.The Young also has the same 1GHz single core processor but with 768MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

For connectivity, the device supports 3G, 2G, WiFi, Bluetooth 3, GPS (A-GPS).The Young has a 3 megapixel rear camera, but has no front camera. The Young will be available in White, blue, red and silver colours.

There is no news on the exact launch date or the locations it will be available just now, however, the handsets are likely to be launched at the MWC, Barcelona.
