Samsung Galaxy S4 Pre-Booking Your Phone in India

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched among much hype and fanfare at an exclusive event in New York event in March this year. Released as Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S IV is a perfect blend of speed, grace and innovation at its best. At its launch event at the famed Radio City Hall, the company spokesperson announced that the device would be launched in 155 countries, and Indian retailers will probably start offering this new device by 26th April. Many online retailers have already started taking pre-booking orders for the device at an initial payment of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000. In fact a few sites, such as, which was the first to start taking orders from 18th March onwards, has already listed the product as “Sold Out” within a week of the listing. About the Samsung Galaxy S4 Much has been written about this ultramodern device with its magical innovations. To highlight its bare specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S IV is an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system based device that has a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 display resolution. There are two options in terms of the processor; we know that the USA will be receiving the 1.9 GHz quad core edition due to some issues with 4G LTE connectivity. The other edition is a 1.6GHz Exynos 5 Octa core edition and both editions will have a 2GB DDR3 RAM. Based on rumors, we assume Indian buyers will receive the Octa core version. The device will come in three internal memory options- 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB that can be expanded further up to 64GB via micro SD card. The device has a 13MP rear camera with many great new features and a 2MP front camera. The connectivity options on this device are 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, NFC, USB and Micro USB port. The device runs on a massive 2600mAh battery. Price War The device is anticipated to be priced around Rs.45k in India which has attracted the ire of many fans who were hoping to purchase the device. In fact, many interested individuals vented their frustration on Twitter with comments such as “is it made of precious stones”, or “ we thought BlackBerry Z10’s price was a joke” and “Gov. wants to increase our income by reducing the petrol price by “Rs 2″ for enable us to buy “Samsung Galaxy S4.” The pricing of the device seems to be made keeping in view the price strategy of Apple’s iPhone. In fact, the iPhone 5 has been priced in the range of Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 48,000. Many online Indian retailers have listed the S IV’s price at Rs. 45,000, but the actual price will be known only once the device hits the Indian shores. Critique & Competition Though the Galaxy S IV has been packed with some really great new features such as the Eye Scroll technology, dual camera and eraser shots, the TouchWiz interface, Hover feature, and much more than one can imagine, critics question is how much of it will be useful to users. The year 2013 has witnessed some great new innovations in devices that have been priced well such as the Sony Xperia Z, Nokia Lumia 920, BlackBerry Z10 and of course, Samsung’s arch rival the Apple iPhone 5.
