A new image of the Samsung Galaxy S III Android smartphone has made an appearance in a Samsung press invitation depicting the bottom half of the all new, more aerodynamic Samsung Galaxy S III. According to the invitation, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S III on May 22nd in London, United Kingdom. This means that the Korean tech giant will meet its promised first half of its 2012 announcement timeline after having pulled the announcement from Mobile World Congress not too long ago.The press invitation posted on Phandroid certainly mentions the ‘Galaxy S III’ product title and subtly states ‘new generation coming.’ The image is of a device with an incredibly sleek form that tapers to an almost flattened bottom edge, indicating that Samsung has finally got rid of the trademark bottom rear hump of earlier Galaxy S series smartphones, giving the Samsung Galaxy S III a more polished look. The image also shows an exposed chrome finish around the edges, but we cannot comment whether the overall look will be close to the polished metal on the Galaxy S III’s nearest competitor, the HTC EVO 4G LTE smartphone that was launched recently.Based on first impressions from the leaked image, chances are that Apple’s biggest rival, Samsung, is changing its standard smartphone design. The Galaxy S III’s screen also seems slightly curved in design. According to reports, the smartphone is likely to be equipped with a new Super AMOLED Plus display boasting a 720p HD resolution in contrast to the Galaxy Nexus, which had an HD Super AMOLED display. The plus point is that the Galaxy S III’s better screen will lead to crisper text and better image rendering.
