Samsung Galaxy Note 9 leaked in renders ahead of official launch scheduled on August 9th

“The Galaxy Note 9 could look exactly like its predecessor Note 8, at least from the front”

Samsung’s Note series flagship for 2018, the Galaxy Note 9 is scheduled to launch on August 9th in New York City. Before that, an alleged render of the phone has cropped up on the interwebs, giving us a glimpse of its front panel. It seems like the Galaxy Note 9 will be strikingly similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 8 (review) in terms of design.

The source claims the leaked images are official renders of the Note 9, so we might be looking at the final product here. As visible in the image, the Galaxy Note 9 will flaunt Samsung’s Infinity display with curved edges and thin bezels. Just like the Note 8, the bottom bezel would be barren, whereas the top bezel would have all the hardware elements.

The top bezel of Galaxy Note 9 would sport a front-facing camera, an iris scanner, earpiece, proximity sensors, and LED flash. The bezels, however, appear to be thinner than the predecessor, which means that Note 9’s screen could be bigger than the one on the Galaxy Note 8.

Further, the leaked image also gives us a peek at the phone’s edges. The right edge sports the power button whereas the left edge is where you will find the volume rockers and Samsung’s AI, Bixby, button. Most likely, the S-Pen will be on the bottom.

The rear of the Galaxy Note 9 is as much of a mystery as its price. However, if past rumours and leaks are taken into account, the only notable difference could be the placement of the fingerprint sensor. Instead of the side, the phablet could have a centre-aligned fingerprint sensor, under the camera module.

As for the specifications, the Note 9 is expected to employ 6.4-inch 18.5:9 aspect ratio display, Snapdragon 845/ Exynos 9810 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage, dual 12-megapixel camera sensors on the back, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Powering the handset will be 4,000mAh battery, and it will most likely run Samsung Experience UI based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The pricing details and availability should be out on August 9th. The Galaxy Note 9 is expected to become available in five colours options: Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Orchid Grey, Teddy Brown, and Titanium Grey.
