“The Galaxy Note 9 is scheduled to be unveiled on August 9th in New York”
Samsung has officially announced that its next-gen flagship — the Galaxy Note 9 — will be launched on August 9th in New York. The forthcoming smartphone has been subjected to a number of leaks and rumours in the past including TENAA and Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) certification’s website. Now, the smartphone has been spotted on Taiwan’s NCC certification website.
The NCC certification website doesn’t reveal anything much about the handset except that it comes with a dual-SIM support and will carry the model number — SM-N960F/DS. According to the previous leaks, the Galaxy Note 9 will come with a 6.4-inch display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The handset is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 845 in the US and Exynos 9810 SoC in other markets. The chipset is further expected to be backed by 6 GB RAM. As per the rumours, the Galaxy Note 9 will come in three storage configurations — 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
In the camera department, it’s being speculated that the Galaxy Note 9 will come with the same cameras as the Galaxy S9 (review) and S9+ (review). That means, the rear panel can be expected to pack a dual-camera module, comprising a pair of 12-megapixel shooters. Rumours also suggest that the handset will feature an improved S-Pen stylus with wireless connectivity, which will make it a standalone accessory. Further, the Note 9 is said to offer a 4,000mAh battery for power requirements. For security, the phone is expected to have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner below the camera module, along with the Iris scanner.
According to rumours, Samsung might launch the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Tab 8.0 (2018) alongside the Note 9 at its Unpacked event. We will have more details in the coming days, so stay tuned.
