“The Galaxy J2 2017 and J2 Pro have received a price drop of Rs 400 and Rs 800 respectively”
Samsung launched the Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 (2017) smartphones in India in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The J2 Pro was originally launched for Rs 9,860, while the J2 2017 was released for Rs 7,390. The company officially reduced the pricing of these devices to Rs 9,090 and Rs 6,990 respectively in the past few months. Now, it appears that the vendor has once again dropped the pricing of these devices in India.

The Mumbai-based independent mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom has revealed that the Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 2017 have received a price drop of up to Rs 800. The Galaxy J2 2017 is now available for Rs 6,590, while the Galaxy J2 Pro is being offered for Rs 7,690. Both are available at the reduced pricing via major brick and mortar stores across the country. At the time of writing this news, Samsung hasn’t yet updated the new pricing of these devices on its e-store in the country.
To recap the specs, the Samsung Galaxy J2 2017 is an entry-level offering with a 4.7-inch qHD display, and is fuelled by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC. The phone comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front shooter, USB OTG, 4G LTE, and Android Nougat.
The Galaxy J2 Pro features a Smart Glow LED ring, which lights up for notifications, calls and battery alerts. The phone sports a 5-inch HD sAMOLED display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core SoC. The device comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front shooter, 4G LTE, and a 2,600mAh battery. Software-wise, the phone boots the archaic Android Marshmallow.
