“This is the second price drop for both smartphones and is permanent”
The Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) have received their second price cut in just a matter of months, ahead of Diwali. They received a price drop of Rs 5,000 back in August, and with that the Galaxy A5 that was earlier retailing for Rs 26,900 came down to Rs 22,900, and Galaxy A7 that was earlier being sold for Rs 30,900 dropped to Rs 25,900. Now, according to popular Mumbai-based offline retailer, Mahesh Telecom, the prices of these devices have dropped further.
The tweet from the retailer revealed that the Galaxy A5 (2017) (review) and Galaxy A7 (2017) (review) are now retailing for Rs 17,990 and Rs 20,990, respectively. This is a drop of Rs 4,910 and is expected to be permanent. To recap, both smartphones flaunt the signature glass and metal sandwich design of the brand and come with 16-megapixel cameras at both the front and rear. They also boast of IP68 certification for protection against water and dust.
Other common specs of these handsets include fingerprint sensors, 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, NFC, Samsung Pay and fast charging support. They also share 1.9GHz octa-core processors, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Apart from these, the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) come with 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED displays. Coming to the battery, while Galaxy A5 (2017) sports a 3,000mAh unit, the Galaxy A7 (2017) flaunts a bigger 3,600mAh battery.
