Rumor: Acer Iconia B1 to be priced at $99

There has been a rumor around on various websites on the internet about Acer working on a budget Android Tablet, unofficially named as ‘Acer Iconia B1’. This device is expected to be around the price tag of $99. The ‘Acer Iconia B1’, if priced around $99, will directly compete with Google’s Nexus.

Acer tab Going with the rumors, the tablet is expected to sport a 7 inch Capacitive touch Screen, with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and pixel density of 169 ppi. The device will be having a 1.2GHz Dual Core Processor and the GPU PowerVR SGX 531 and 512MB RAM beneath it. It would be running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Operating system. It would have 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card. Currently, there is no information about the final price tag. But it may vary from country to country. This tab will be launched in the countries which have possibilities of developing a good market. Meanwhile, this tab will not be purchased from many countries around the globe. Rumors confirm that Acer Iconia B1-A71 had been cleared by the Federal Communications Commission and this tablet is expected to be launched at Consumer Electronics Show in January 2013 at Las Vegas. This tablet will have have similar specs matching to Amazon’s Kindle Fire and the Barnes & Noble Inc Nook Color. Adding to the heat, Acer is also rumored to working on a Windows 8 tablet which will not be priced around $100 but will surely be one of the most affordable Windows 8 based tablet in the market.
