Following the footsteps of Tata Docomo, Reliance communications launches 3G across 4 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chandigarh (Nothing in south!). Reliance now becomes the second private telecom operator to roll out 3G services in India. RCom becomes the first operator to offer 3G services to customers in top 3 metros! RCom has secured 3G licences for 13 circles and they would launching 3G across all 13 circles with 90-100 days. “By next three months we will launch it in the remaining nine circles for which the company has spectrum. Our tariffs will be affordable, simple and transparent based on try and buy pricing proposition,” RCom”s President and CEO (Wireless Business) Syed Safawi told reporters here. “The launch of Reliance 3G is an integral part of our Vision 2015 of creating a “Wirefree India” built upon the ‘affordable 3G for All’ platform. Looks like Video calling services wont be available until Reliance gets security clearance certificate. So, customers should wait before they can enjoy Video Calling services!
