Indian IT company, Pantel technologies has launched the country’s first EDGE enabled voice calling tablet, Penta T-Pad WS707C, in collaboration with mobile network provider BSNL Limited. The tablet has been reasonably priced at a range of Rs. 7, 590 to Rs. 7, 999.

The WS707C is built on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform and has a 7 inch multi-touch capacitive touch screen with 1024×600 pixels display resolution. The tablet supports 3D graphics and dual screen video operations. This means, the user can perform multiple tasks simultaneously on a single window.
The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 processor with 1GB DDR3 RAM and a Mali 400 GPU. It has 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card.
The T-Pad WS707C has a 2MP rear facing camera and a 0.3MP front facing camera.
The connectivity options on this device include 2G (via SIM card Slot), 3G (via external dongle),Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and HDMI. It runs on a phenomenal 3,000 mAh Li-Polymer battery.
The leader in the Indian markets for voice calling tablets is the Micromax Funbook Talk. Micromax has recently launched the Micromax Funbook P600, which also offers similar services although it is priced slightly higher. The device will also face competition from Byond Mi-book Mi7, Zen Ultra Tab A700 and the HCL ME Tablet Y3 which were also launched in the same segment recently.
