“The OnePlus 3 has been listed on Flipkart for Rs 18,999 as compared to its official price of Rs 27,999”
Earlier, we had reported that Flipkart was teasing the availability of the OnePlus 3 (review) smartphone on its ecommerce platform. Now, the company has listed the device on its website at a price of Rs 18,999, a massive discount from its regular price of Rs 27,999. The phone will go on sale during Flipkart’s Big Shopping Days Sale which commences at 4pm today. The phone will be available in limited stocks and only in the Soft Gold hue.
Interestingly, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei was quick to notice the banners on Flipkart, and took to social media to highlight the brand’s exclusive deal with Amazon India. The company is asking consumers to buy the device only from official channels, as it cannot guarantee the authenticity of the products sold elsewhere.
It’s surprising then that Flipkart has chosen not to honour OnePlus’ exclusive partnership with Amazon. In a statement sent to the press, Flipkart said:
“Flipkart is a marketplace which helps sellers connect with customers across the country. All our sellers are mandated to adhere to stringent guidelines. The prices and discounts for all our sales are decided by the participating sellers and brands”
It’s also worth mentioning that since OnePlus has categorically asked users to buy its products only from official channels, it’s unclear if any devices purchased from the Flipkart would still carry the company’s warranty.
