Nokia Lumia 510 launched with Windows Phone 7.8 out of the box

Finnish company Nokia is launching Nokia Lumia 510 out of the box with Windows 7.8 in the Lumia series in India. Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 510 were amongst the smartphones that were announced to receive this upgrade prior to Nokia Lumia 510.

It offers an upgraded and enhanced home screen in which lets its users customize the tile size. Emphasizing on this aspect Terry Myerson, Corporate Vice President of Windows Phone said “Resizable Live Tiles totally change the way I do things, providing faster access to more of my favorite people, photos, and apps.”

The camera will also come with an improvised lens feature for shutterbugs.

The update was officially expected to be available by 2013 so this announcement comes in line with the expectations.

“We know you’re eager to get the Windows Phone 7.8 update, and we want you to know that we’re working closely with our hardware and carrier partners to get it tested, approved, and rolled out to as many devices as possible in early 2013. As we work to quickly get this in the hands of our loyal users, we’re also striving to deliver a high-quality release and ensure a smooth transition for our widely expanded services.” said Terry Myerson, Corporate Vice President of Windows Phone.
