Last month, HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas announced that the brand will introduce some ‘awesome’ products at this year’s MWC. The company then went on to confirm its presence at the event by sending out a media invite for an event to be held on February 25th. The brand is expected to launch the Nokia 3310 4G, Nokia 9, Nokia 1 (Android Oreo Go Edition), Nokia 4, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 (2018) at the event.
Now, if the recent reports are to be believed, the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 1 and Nokia 9 will land in India in April. NokiaPowerUser has learnt from their sources that starting in April, the brand will launch these handsets and couple of other devices in India in a phased manner. However, the sources have not revealed any concrete timeline for the launches. Of the three devices mentioned, Nokia 6 (2018) has been officially launched in China and gone on sale as well. The 32GB model is available for RMB 1,499 (~Rs 14,600), while the 64GB variant retails for RMB 1,699 (~Rs 16,600).
To recap on the second generation Nokia 6, it sports a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. The processor of the handset has been mated to 4GB RAM. In the imaging department, the handset gets a 16-megapixel camera on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. There is a 3,000mAh battery poweing the device. Software-wise, the handset boots Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and has already started receiving the Oreo update as well.
As for the launch event at MWC, HMD Global is expected to announce the availability and the pricing of the devices. 91mobiles will be present on the floor, so stay tuned for more updates regarding the launches from the brand.
