“The MyJio app is the first to touch the 100 million mark under a year”
After breaking countless records, Reliance-backed Jio telecom has now added yet another feather to its cap. The MyJio app from the operator, which lets users control their Jio account, has crossed 100 million downloads on the Play Store.
With this, the app has become only the second most downloaded app after the video streaming app, Hotstar. Notably, Hotstar shot to fame after acquiring the rights to stream the HBO series Game of Thrones in the country. Moving to MyJio, the app lets users keep tabs on usage and other aspects of their Jio account. With the size of Jio user base in India, it does not come as a surprise that the app crossed the milestone in less than a year. To put things into perspective, similar self-care applications from other telecom operators like Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular have managed to touch merely 10 million downloads so far.
Another app from the operator, JioTV has touched over 50 million downloads on the Play Store, whereas, similar apps from the competition are lingering between one and five million downloads.
