“The limited period 45-year anniversary discount on Moto G5s has now been made permanent”
Motorola expanded its Moto G series of smartphones with the launch of Moto G5s and Moto G5s Plus (review), last year. The smaller of the duo, Moto G5s was launched with a price tag of Rs 14,999 and recently received a limited period price cut of Rs 5,000 to mark the 45-year anniversary of the brand. However, now the handset maker has decided to make the price drop permanent and Moto G5s can be picked up for Rs 9,999 across all channels.
To recap on the spec sheet of the smartphone, the Moto G5s comes with a metal-unibody design having a water-repellent nano-coating on top. The smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch display bearing 1,920 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There is a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC to handle the performance. Motorola has mated the processor to 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The smartphone runs stock Android Nougat out of the box, with Moto Actions baked in.
In the camera department, the Moto G5s comes with a 16-megapixel camera on the rear panel and 5-megapixel front camera with LED flash. Motorola has equipped the rear camera on the smartphone with features like PDAF, a dual-LED flash, and f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone comes powered by a 3,000mAh battery, which also has support for Motorola’s proprietary TurboPower fast charging. As for the connectivity, the handset comes with 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
Motorola has already announced that the new price will be effective starting today across all channels including Moto Hubs, Amazon.in and retail stores across the country. The phone is being offered in three colour options – Fine Gold, Lunar Grey and Oxford Blue.
