LG Introduces Optimus LTE Smartphone in Japan

Following the successful launches in North America and Korea, LG introduced the World’s first LTE HD smartphone to the Japan. Hereinafter, the new smartphone LG Optimus LTE will be available at one of the largest LTE-serviced countries Japan. LG successfully announced the device to NTT Docomo. LG-Optimus-LTE-HD Launching the device, Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company said, “The Optimus LTE is one of LG’s most promising devices and has already been received well in Korea, Canada and the United States. As a worldwide innovator in mobile LTE technology, we are committed to developing high-quality devices that showcase our technical experience and True HD IPS display.” LG Optimus LTE is powerful HD device comes with a 4.5 inch True HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 (16:9 ratio) for crisp and sharp viewing. The device portrays 2.76 million sub-pixels for a vivid display. LG developed the display screens in partnership with sister company LG Display. The display frames are superior in color accuracy, clarity and natural color display and comes with an effective power consumption technology even while experiencing the ultimate HD video content.

Based on a recent report by Jefferies & Company, LG was listed to be global leader in LTE patents with ownership of 23 percent. This approximates to 1400 LTE patents filed worldwide and with a financial value of almost US$8 billion. For instance, LG is one who demonstrated the world’s first LTE technology in 2007 and developed the world’s first LTE modem chipset in 2008. In the year 2010, LG introduced the world’s fastest LTE technology and conducted the world’s first video phone call on a LTE network in 2011. Also, LG Revolution is the first device that hit the US market earlier this year.
