After appearing online in several leaked photos, LG G Flex is finally officially announced with a full HD curved display. According to the press release issued by LG, the phone will be available to buy next month in South Korea on the major telecom operators. It is LG’s rival smartphone for the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Round which is curved horizontally, while LG G Flex is curved from top to the bottom.
Features wise, LG G Flex comes with a 6inch curved OLED display with the resolution of 1280*720 pixels. It is powered by a 2.26GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of massive internal storage which is further expandable via microSD card slot. It sports a 13MP rear camera along with a 2.1MP front facing shooter.
It is running on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system version and will be updated with the newer versions in the future. LG has loaded the phone with various software tweaks like KnockOn, swing lock screen, which moves the wallpaper in response to tilting motion and also produces cool unlocking effects when user unlocks the device by touching on different areas of the display.
LG has also mentioned that the back panel of the phone is made of a special material with self-healing technology, which helps to get rid of scratches within minutes. However, the company didn’t mention how exactly it works. International availability plans of the device are not released yet.
