“The Lenovo Vibe S1 is a premium smartphone with an interesting camera setup”

The Lenovo Vibe S1, which was introduced back at IFA in September, was the world’s first smartphone to boast not one, but two front cameras. The smartphone features 8MP and 2MP front shooters, with the latter doubling up as a depth sensor that allows for some neat tricks. At the rear, you’ll find a 13MP primary camera with dual-LED flash. The cameras aren’t the only interesting feature of the smartphone though. It features a sleek, curved glass back panel, and a slim aluminium frame. The smartphone sports a 5-inch full HD display, and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, mated to 3GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of onboard storage, and you can top it up by an additional 128GB via microSD. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, overlaid with Vibe UI. The smartphone is fuelled by a 2,500mAh battery. The dual-SIM device supports 4G on both slots. We’ve already given you our first impressions at the Vibe S1 from our time at IFA, but now that the smartphone has been launched in India, let’s take a look at what you get inside the retail box.

The Lenovo Vibe S1 ships in a white rectangular box with Vibe and Lenovo branding in the front, and the various specs and other information at the rear. Opening up the box, you’ll first be greeted by the smartphone, which interestingly comes fitted with a clear plastic case out-of-the-box. Underneath the device is a screen protector. Upon removing the tray, you’ll see a slim white box that has the SIM ejector tool placed on top. Open it up and you’ll find the quick start guide and warranty information. Next to the box is a flap, which holds a 1.5A two-pin wall charger. At the very bottom, you’ll see a micro-USB to USB data cable.

While th Vibe S1 comes packaged with the usual accompaniments, we appreciate that Lenovo has bundled extras like the case and screen protector, both of which are useful accessories. Now that we have the Vibe S1 in our labs, we’ll be putting it to the test in the coming weeks to bring you our full review. Stay tuned.
