Lenovo confirms Android 4.0 update for ThinkPad tablet

Lenovo is planning to upgrade their tablet range with latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In the recent past, the company said that Android upgrades for Lenovo ThinkPad and Lenovo IdeaPad tablets will be delivered over-the-air. However, Lenovo had not provided any specified period for the updates till time. Now the company confirmed, the Android 4.0 operating system will be delivered in the second quarter of 2012. Consumers with Android 4.0 update will now be able to enjoy a new user interface, enhanced connectivity, applications and multimedia options. Unlike the previous version Android 3.0 HoneyComb, the newly updated Android ICS is common for both smartphones and tablets. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich comes with improved encryption layers for email and data security that satisfies enterprise level consumers. Also, this OS provides administrators more stronger remote control over tablets. However, some of the features like Android Beam will not work on this device that works with close-proximity data exchange options like Near-Field Communications. But, it is possible to overcome the situation in 3G enabled tablets by using NFC enabled SIM cards. lenovo-thinkpad-tablet-keyboard-dockLenovo ThinkPad is an Android HoneyComb tablet designed for enterprise level consumers.
