The world’s largest chip maker Intel has announced two Android tablets with 7inch and 10inch display for education sector. Company has listed these Atom processor powered devices on its website and they are going to be targeted at the school students who can’t afford the high budget tablets including Apple iPad etc.
Features wise the Intel Education Tablet 7inch features a LCD display with the resolution of 1024*600 pixels. It is running on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system version and powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor along with 1GB of RAM memory. It is having 8GB of internal storage that can be further expendable via microSd card slot. Stylus pen support is optional on the device and Intel claims it provides 8 hours of battery. It comes with integrated speakers and microphone along with 2MP rear & 0.3MP front cameras.
Intel Education Tablet 10inch is running a bit older Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system version. It comes with capacitive stylus pen support and provides 1280*800 pixels of resolution on its TFT display. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor along with 1GB of RAM memory. It is having 16GB of internal storage without microSD card support. Intel stated both of the tablets are specially designed for the school students to meet their educational needs. Company has also pre-loaded these tablets with Intel Education software for school students. However, there is no information available on the price and release date of these devices at the moment.
