“The Watch 2 comes in Sports and Classic variants, alongside a voice calling-capable model”
Last year in April, the Huawei launched its Android Wear-powered Watch in India. Today, the company has launched the second-gen variant of the wearable in the country called the Huawei Watch 2. The new smartwatch comes in three variants – the Huawei Watch 2 Sports, Watch 2 Classic and Watch 2 Sports (4G). The wearable was originally unveiled at MWC in Barcelona earlier this year. The Watch 2 Sports models sport a sportier look with rubber straps, while the Watch 2 Classic features a stainless steel bezel and leather straps to provide a more premium and stylish appeal.
The Huawei Watch 2 runs Android Wear 2.0, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2 2100 processor. The device features IP68 certification for imperviousness to water. The smartwatch comes with extensive exercise tracking features, real-time heart rate information, including dynamic heart rate monitoring and zone indicators. It features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top and a resolution of 390 x 390p.
The Huawei Watch 2 features 768MB of RAM, and comes with 4GB of RAM. The connectivity features include built-in eSIM on 4G variants, Bluetooth 4.1 with LE, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC. It is powered by a 420mAh battery with fast charging technology. The sensors on board include 3-axis A + G sensor, 3-axis Gyroscope, 3-axis Compass, an ambient light sensor, a barometer and heart rate sensor. The 4G variant of the watch is capable of making voice calls. The smartwatch supports devices running Android 4.3 or higher and iOS 8.2 or up.
The Huawei Watch 2 Sports has been priced at Rs 20,999, while the Watch 2 Classic is being offered for Rs 25,999. The Watch 2 Sports 4G model will set you back by Rs 29,999. The Watch 2 Sports will be available exclusively on Amazon India. The Watch 2 Classic and Watch 2 Sports (4G) will also be available via major retail stores across the country, in addition to Amazon. The company will be launching additional interchangeable colour bands for the watch later this year.
