“The Huawei P20 or P11 series smartphones are expected to come in three variants”
Huawei’s upcoming P series smartphones have been the subject of a number of leaks and reports lately. The rumour mill suggests that the company could launch the next P series devices under the P11 or P20 moniker. A report recently also indicated that the brand will skip this year’s MWC to launch its next P series phones at a special event on March 27th. Now, putting an end to all rumours, Huawei has finally sent out invites for a press event in Paris on March 27th, where the brand is expected to unveil the next-gen P series handsets.
Huawei’s invite has three circles on top of an image of the Eifel Tower, which suggests the presence of three cameras at the rear of the Huawei P11 or P20 series devices, in line with the recent reports and leaked images. The invite also mentions “See mooore with AI”, which indicates that the camera apps of the next-gen P series handsets will have artificial intelligence-powered features to tweak images.
Unfortunately, the invite doesn’t reveal anything else about the Huawei P20 or P11 series smartphones. However, the rumour mill suggests that the vendor will launch three new devices – the Huawei P11/P20 Plus, P11/P20 Lite and P11/P20 Pro. All three phones are expected to flaunt three primary cameras at the rear. They are rumoured to be powered by the brand’s in-house Kirin 970 flagship processor.
The Huawei P20 or P11 Plus and Lite variants are rumoured to sport 18:9 displays with slim bezels on the top and bottom, while the Pro model is expected to sport a display notch like the iPhone X (review). A recent report suggested that the Lite model might also offer a similar display like the Pro variant. The next-gen Huawei phones are also expected to boot Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. However, nothing is officially confirmed yet, so we advise you to take this with a pinch of salt.
