Huawei’s first Windows Phone 8 running Smartphone, Ascend W1 has got the FCC approval, which will enable Huawei to expand the market of this smartphone.
Huawei Ascend W1 was launched back in January 2013, at Consumers Electronic Show held at Las Vegas. This is an entry level smartphone, which runs on the latest Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system. This Smartphone has gone through various standard tests and was successfully passed.
Huawei Ascend W1 sports a brilliant 4 inch IPS display, which produces a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 Chipset Processor, coupled with 512 MB of RAM.
It houses 5 Megapixels rear camera and a VGA front camera for video calls.It boasts 4 GB on on-board storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. This Smartphone is fuelled by 1950 mAH of battery.
The Huawei Ascend W1 is a nice affordable Windows Phone 8 running Smartphone, which will get a tough competition in the market. Its biggest competitors are Nokia Lumia 620 and HTC 8S. Both devices are doing great in terms of sales for their manufacturers.
It will be interesting to see whether Huawei Ascend W1 can give a tough competition to its rivals in the market.
Huawei is also expected to launch Ascend W2 at upcoming Mobile World Congress 2013, going to hit the floors at Barcelona, Spain. Huawei Ascend W2 will be a high end Smartphone, which will also be running on Windows Phone 8 Operating system.
