Honor 9i with 5.9-inch 18:9 display and four cameras launched in India for Rs 17,999

“The Honor 9i flaunts a 5.9-inch bezel-less full HD+ display, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage”

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched its first quad camera smartphone called the Honor 9i in India. The phone comes as a variant of the Huawei Maimang 6, which was launched in China last month. The Honor 9i’s biggest USP is a dual camera setup at both the front and rear panel. The phone also sports an almost bezel-less display with a screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent. The device gets a premium metal unibody design and a fingerprint sensor that’s located at its rear.

The primary dual camera module of the Honor 9i is a combination of 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel sensors, aided by a dual-tone LED flash. This setup allows you to shoot first and focus later as well. In the front, the phone gets a 13-megapixel primary snapper, aided by a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The device also gets a soft LED flash and a portrait mode for taking selfies. The brand claims the phone offers soft and even lighting for your selfies.

Moving on to the display, the Honor 9i features a 5.9-inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass screen. The device has narrow bezels on the sides and slim bezels on top and bottom. The phone is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor, mated to 4GB of RAM. There’s 64GB of storage on board, which can be further increased up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card. In terms of connectivity, you get 4G, VoLTE (voice over LTE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 3,340mAh battery keeps the whole package running, while Android Nougat with EMUI 5.1 takes care of software side of the things.

Coming to the pricing and availability, the Honor 9i has been priced at Rs 17,999 in India, and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart starting October 14th. The phone comes in three hues – Aurora Blue, Graphite Black and Prestige Black.

Its worth mentioning that the Honor 9i is the second quad camera smartphone in India, after the recently launched InFocus Snap 4, which you can check out in the video below.
