Google Nexus 5 officially unveiled, coming soon to India for Rs.28999

The leak storm for the Google Nexus 5 is now finally over because the phone is now officially unveiled. The latest iteration of the Nexus smartphone is manufactured by LG Electronics. It is the first device to run on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system version, which is also unwrapped now with a lot of new features to improve the ecosystem of the mobile OS. Google has also announced that the phone will be available to buy in India pretty soon for Rs. 28,999 for 16GB and Rs. 32,999 for 32GB variant.

The phone is already available to buy in US, Canada, France, UK, Australia, Italy, Germany, Spain, Korea and Japan, unlocked at without any contract starting at $349. You can buy the phone from your country specific Google Play Stores. Features wise, Google Nexus 5 comes with a 4.95inch IPS full HD display with the resolution of 1920*1080 pixels and whopping 445 pixels per inch density. The display is also covered by Corning Gorilla Glass to provide enhanced protection against screen damages. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor along with 2GB of RAM, which will provide amazing performance in the phone. In traditional Google manner, company has offered the phone in 16GB and 32GB variants without microSD card slot to expand the memory further.

Below the back panel sits a decent 2300mAh battery, which is not exactly the biggest we have seen yet on a 5inch device. However, it is having wireless charging support, which is pretty cool for sure. At the back of the phone, there is an 8MP camera with optical image stabilization and LED flash features. The camera uses a 1/3.2” sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The new lens of the phone is touted to capture more light to produce brighter night & sharper action photos. Also, there is a 1.3MP front facing shooter too for video calling.

Google Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat are designed to work along very smoothly to use Google’s search engine and all the other services to learn habits of a user to provide helpful information on the go. Google’s virtual assistant, Google Now, also a great feature of the phone which engages in richer dialogue with the users. On the connectivity side, the Google Nexus 5 has it all – 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, A-GPS, penta-band 3G and WiFi. The latest nexus smartphone measures 137.84 x 69.17 x 8.59mm and weighs just 130g. It comes in Black and White color editions. “Just in the time for the holidays, Nexus 5 will be available soon at the following retailers: Sprint, T-Mobile, Amazon, Best Buy and RadioShack,” Google noted in a blog post.

The 16GB version of the Google Nexus 5 sold out in just a couple of hours after the launch in US Google Play store, but later company provided extra stock and it is available again. We will update you more when the phone will be available in India, so keep checking the blog for regular updates.
