Google Finally Launches Google Drive cloud storage service

drive-240412 Google has finally launched the Google Drive online storage and collaboration service. The news was first leaked by Google’s French blog. The app can be downloaded by anyone who has the required hardware. After watching the video uploaded by Google about Google Drive, we are pretty sure that it is going to be mind-blowing! Google Drive has been a long time in the making and there have been a lot of discussions and debates regarding what it actually offers. What was originally a substitute for Dropbox, Google Drive has finally transformed into a full-blown storage platform powered by Google Search, enabling users to collaborate amongst each other. Its magnitude is such that users will begin to literally live on their portable devices. With Google Drive, you can access your stuff from anywhere in the world—on the net, in your home, at the office and even while running routine errands! Google Drive is in-fact an amalgamation of all the existing Google products like Google+, Google Docs and even Google Wave. When can we test-drive Google Drive?  Well, Drive has already been released and it is live right now. If you have an Android device, you can download the Google Drive app from the Google Play Store. Mac and PC web apps are already available. Although there is no iOS app right now, Google is claiming that it is working on one and will release it in a few weeks. Coming to the prices, Google Drive users will get 5GB of storage free of cost. Those who want more storage space will have to pay up.  25GB storage comes at $2.49 a month; 100GB storage costs $4.99 per month and 1TB will make you poorer by $49.99 per month. Maximum storage space for those who prefer to keep all their stuff is 16TB (wow!), for $799.99 (whoa!) a month, per user. Google Drive has just been launched and we will probably need time to understand how to make full use of its awesome potential. After years of anticipation and excitement, it is exhilarating knowing that Google Drive is actually within our reach now.
