A Chinese mobile maker, Gionee has marked its presence in the Indian smartphone market by recently launching its first ever smartphone “Gpad 1” in the country.
Gionee Gpad 1 boasts a 5-inch LCD touchscreen display which features a display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system and gets powered with a 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM.
The other features of the Gpad 1 includes an 8MP Rear Camera, VGA Front Camera and 4GB Internal Memory, expandable up to 32GB via Micro SD Card. The connectivity features of the Gpad 1 lists Dual-SIM, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS and Micro USB support.
To add to the uniqueness of the device, Gionee has complemented it with a Scratch-resistant Glass, G-sensor, Proximity light sensor and a Magnetic sensor. Priced at Rs. 10,990, the Gpad 1 from Gionee arrives accompanied by various freebies in its box which includes a scratch guard, 8GB Memory Card and a cover. It is expected to give a tough competition to the Micromax A110 Canvas 2 which has got similar features at a price around Rs. 1000 more than it.
The new Gionee smartphone is now available for sale online as well as with various retailers in some cities of the country such as Jaipur, Chandigarh and Kolkata to name a few. Gionee is soon expected to expand its retail availability in the country by appointing some new dealers for various areas.
Gionee has attained an annual sales figure of over 23 million units in China and is looking forward to set benchmarks with a superb sales figure in India too.
