“The new partnership with Mobiistar is Flipkart’s second tie-up after ASUS”
Flipkart formed a long-term strategic partnership with ASUS last month. As part of the alliance, Taiwanese handset maker will launch products that have been specifically designed to address Indian consumer needs, which will be Flipkart exclusive. Now, Flipkart has roped in one of the leading smartphone brands from Vietnam – Mobiistar to form yet another long-term strategic partnership.
Flipkart has announced that the tie-up will launch its first line-up of handsets on May 23rd in India. The tie-up will launch Selfie Star series of smartphones, which Flipkart claims to bring a perfect balance between imaging and performance. The smartphones from the new series will come with dual selfie cameras, a Snapdragon processor, and beefy battery, as per the brand. Further, Flipkart has announced that these smartphones will be launched at an affordable price point and will specifically cater to the Indian market.
Carl Ngo, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Mobiistar India & Global, said, “Mobiistar has received tremendous love and popularity in Vietnam and now we are excited to be launching in India. As part of our endeavour to “Enjoy More” and to expand the horizons of mobile technology adoption by providing an affordable and uncompromised user experience for our end consumers we will be partnering with Flipkart exclusively for our products. Flipkart has driven and supported users to purchase smartphones with ease and highly contributed towards market growth through innovations and a deep sense of knowing what consumers want. We believe our partnership with Flipkart will reinforce efforts for India and further help us customise our products for the Indian consumers.”
Mobiistar has tied-up with the local manufacturer, V-Sun Technologies, to assemble the handsets in the country. This move will likely help the brand to keep the price in check. We will bring you more details on the Selfie Star series and its availability on May 23rd when the smartphone goes official.
