Aircel will launch its 4G services in India by December this year. Aircel will roll out its 4G service through LTE TDD network. As per the reports, Aircel is planning to make an investment of Rs. 2,800 crore to bring the whole system into the mainstream. It should be mentioned that Aircel holds the spectrum in 8 circles and it will start its services from Chennai circle. Aircel holds the 4G spectrum in the following states: Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, North-East, Jammu & Kashmir.
“Aircel will not only provide mobile 4G services through dongles and devices but also get into consumer homes by offering broadband internet, broadcasting, video on demand, education and health care services, among others”. Said Mr. Sandip Das, CEO of Malaysian Telco Maxis Berhad, which is a majority stake holder in Aircel Ltd.
Aircel boasts of being the first company to launch the 4G services all over India. Many other telecom providers like Reliance Telecom are following it. Aircel will be eyeing its Kolkata and Bangalore circles as well to roll out its 4G services. It has been expected that the tariff of 4G services will remain same as the 3G services, though the final usage rates will be revealed at the time of its launch. 4G will take broadband and communication industry a step ahead. It will increase the standard of living of the people as well.
