Dropbox 3.0 gets AirDrop support, streamlined iPad experienceThe Dropbox update now includes integrated support for AirDrop, Apple’s wireless file-sharing software. Users will be able to share Dropbox files with nearby friends who have iOS 7 devices. Apart from the clean new design, iPad users will now see a more ‘streamlined’ interface, which lets them tap on photos or files to toggle a fullscreen mode. Additionally, Dropbox 3.0 includes PDF viewing updates, bug fixes and significant speed improvements.
SkyDrive gets Camera Backup, ability to edit Office documentsWith the new SkyDrive update, iOS 7 users will now be able to automatically upload photos and videos from their camera roll to SkyDrive, a facility that is already available to Windows Phone users. Microsoft is calling this feature ‘Camera Backup’. Users can choose whether photos are uploaded via Wi-Fi or cellular, and can even upload lower resolution photos to save space. Users will also have an option to share photos from SkyDrive directly to Facebook. SkyDrive 4.0 now includes integration for Office Mobile and One Note users. This brings the ability to open Office documents directly from SkyDrive, make edits and save changes back to the app.
